Questions? We have answers.
The Co.Lab Product Design track is for Junior & Intermediate level Designers looking to gain experience working in a tech team environment. You already have a portfolio to show off, with projects from either your current workplace, a previous design bootcamp, or just self-taught projects.
What's most important is that you're someone who wants the hands-on experience beyond just the theory. You're looking for practical Product Design experience, and you're ready for the challenge.
Nope! You decide exactly what is in your design toolkit, and get to convey that to your cross-functional team. You lead the path in deciding what kind of a Product Designer you're going to be!
The program will require at minimum 15-20 hours per week, for the entirety of the 8-week program.
There is a mix of live, pre-scheduled classes, as well as online content you can take at your own place. You'll also need to make time to work with your team and meet with your Mentor, however that is up to you all to decide. There are weekly submissions to keep you on track, which is reviewed by your Mentor.
You tell us! Teams decide for themselves what they build, and work collaboratively to find actual users, and determine actual customer pain points. You can find some ideas from the Project Portfolios of previous teams.
The product managers, designers and developers you’ll be working with are also like-minded, motivated techies looking to grow in their careers. You’ll be navigating the Co.Lab journey together. Our matching is determined based on teamwork styles, experiences, interests, and other logistics.
Don't think of Co.Lab as a class or a bootcamp. It is a real-world experience that simulates the work environment as closely as can be. It's not always a smooth ride. However, if you want to do product, you have to build product. We want you to try it out for yourself, in the low-stakes and supportive environment that is Co.Lab.
If you’re looking for a challenge and to truly stand out from the crowd with cross-functional product experience, we'd love to have you apply!
